Shah Rukh Khan was recently crowned with the National Award in the Best Actor category for his brilliant performance in Jawan. After his endless contributions to the world of cinema for over three decades, the King Khan of Bollywood finally received his share of acknowledgements. From fans to Bollywood celebrities, people celebrated his win as one of their own. But Shah Rukh Khan’s victory also generated a lot of buzz on social media, as netizens argued that he had been a part of better movies like Chak De India and Swades, which were far more deserving than Jawan.

Shah Rukh Khan’s friend and producer Viveck Vaswani has defended the actor amid the sharp criticism and called Atlee’s movie ‘relevant’. Viveck co-produced Shah Rukh’s Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman and also acted in the movie. He played the role of Lovechand Kukreja. Taking to his X (Twitter) account, he posted, “Just putting it out there. It’s a National Award. It’s not small. And Jawaan was a great performance and a relevant film for the times. And Ashutosh Gowariker is one of the most ethical people in the industry, I’ve known him longer than SRK!”

Not only him, but YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani also showed his love and support towards SRK and Atlee’s movie Jawan. "Will never understand this forced 'hatred' for #Jawan. It's my most favourite SRK film after Chak De. It was entertaining and also beautifully shot," he wrote on social media.

Earlier, when the star received his National Award, Viveck congratulated Shah Rukh Khan and called his win ‘very late’ but ‘very very deserving.’ Reacting to his wishes, Shah Rukh also teased and wrote, “thank you for the wishes. All started with you. Raju finally ban gaya gentleman.”
