Shefali Shah had a difficult career in Bollywood. The actor is known for her parts in movies like Satya, Darlings, Dil Dhadakne Do, and Three of Us. Her roles in movies like Waqt and Monsoon Wedding earned her plaudits, but she didn't get recognition in Hindi cinema until web series Delhi Crimes. The Jalsa actor recently made an appearance on Twinkle Khanna's podcast, where they talked about how, during her breakdown, Twinkle and Akshay Kumar's son, Aarav Bhatia secretively recorded Shefali Shah. Twinkle Khanna joked many people have sex tapes but she will have sobbing tape.
"Shefali is also an old friend and at one point, we were sitting in my garden, and she was upset that she wasn’t getting the kind of work she should be getting. She was crying," recalled Twinkle Khanna. "But since every story has to have some sort of twist, we heard a rustle in the bushes, and it turned out to be my son, who was holding a videotape, recording this whole thing. So some people have a sex tape floating around… she has a sobbing tape," continued the host.
Shefali Shah joked, "Maybe we should put it out now, I will get popular."

Shefali Shah shared that she didn't want to continue playing a mother on screen after Dil Dhadakne Do, thus she turned down movies like Kapoor and Sons and Neerja. "After Dil Dhadakne Do, I made a strategic decision that I don’t want to play mother to people who are just a couple of years younger than me. After Dil Dhadakne Do, I was offered Neerja and Kapoor and Sons, and I loved the script of both the films, but I felt that if I do this, this is going to be the end for me."
The actor continued, "There has probably been more waiting than acting in my career. And while I was waiting, Mukesh Chhabra, the casting director, called me, and he came up with this part (Delhi Crime), and within the first five minutes of meeting Richie Mehta (director of Delhi Crime), I said yes to the show."

What Is Delhi Crimes About?
Delhi Crime gained a lot of praise, as both reviewers and fans praised Shefali's performance. Rajesh Tailang, Adil Hussain, and Rasika Dugal were also featured in Delhi Crime. In 2020, the show even became the first Indian series to win the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series.
