The Duffer Brothers have confirmed the return of Shannon Purser’s character Barb. The filmmakers revealed that her body will be shown, likely as part of Vecna’s hive.

Hints to Vecna's Backstory

The Duffer Brothers told Variety that Vecna’s expanded arc serves as the 'new Russia storyline'. Meanwhile, Max and Holly continue to be trapped in Vecna’s mindspace, where additional memories are expected to emerge. The creators added that they are "very happy with how it integrates with the other storylines."

Henry Creel's Life

Matt Duffer said in a conversation with Variety that the final episode will feature "more overlap with the play," Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which delves into Henry Creel’s 1950s backstory and early powers. He added that certain plot details were intentionally left out of the stage production so they could be unveiled directly in the show.

Stranger Things 5 First Looks

Nancy, Jonathan, Dustin, and Steve follow a Demogorgon into a portal inside a grain silo and become trapped in the Upside Down. The initial teaser trailer shows the four approaching Hawkins Lab (Department of Energy), identifying it as the origin of the Upside Down.

In the main trailer, Jonathan and Nancy see an exploding ball releasing powerful electrical shockwaves aimed at the previously indestructible wall.

The trailer hints at a tense hospital escape, featuring a Jurassic Park-style sequence where Demodogs hunt Max, Lucas and Vickie in the laundry room. Unlike Demogorgons, which mainly collect kids, Demodogs appear to be on a “hunt and kill” mission as Max disrupts Henry’s dream world.
