Amid mounting speculations, Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan is finally back on track following an unexpected delay. The political thriller was slated to release on January 9, but it faced a major roadblock from the Central Board of Film Certification. The delay left fans disheartened as this project is going to be the actor's last movie before he fully commits himself to the world of politics.

Jana Nayagan officially secured a green light from CBFC after the Madras High Court ordered the board to issue the film a U/A 16+ certificate on Friday. The certificate signals that it is suitable for a wide range of audiences. The joyous news has reignited the excitement among Vijay's fans. According to reports, the court not only ordered the censor board to provide the certificate but also slammed them by saying, "Entertaining such complaints is a dangerous trend." They further talked about how the complaint against Jana Nayagan was just an 'afterthought'.

Why Was Jana Nayagan's Certification Delayed?

The board raised several concerns about the scenes in Jana Nayagan. According to court proceedings, the movie was flagged for its high level of violence.

The court also asked the makers to cut and edit in the final product. Major concerns like depiction of communalism, alleged use of a defense emblem, also led to the delay in securing the certificate.
