The Bengal Files Box Office Collection: The Bengal Files, Vivek Agnihotri's highly anticipated movie, is having a difficult time making the most money at the box office. Even after more than a week in theaters, the intense political drama has struggled to surpass the Rs 15 crore milestone in India. The weekend did, however, result in a little increase in the number of attendees. The Bengal Files' net domestic revenue is Rs 14.15 crore, as per latest update from industry tracking site, Sacnilk. It made Rs 1.15 crore on the tenth day, which was comparable to its daily profits during the previous seven days. The Bengal Files has remained within that range after opening at Rs 1.75 crore.

The political drama revisits the August 1946 communal riots in undivided Kolkata, also referred to as 'Direct Action Day.' Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher and Simrat Kaur play the main parts in The Bengal Files.

On Saturday, Vivek Agnihotri hosted a special screening of the movie at the National Library in Kolkata. Khola Hawa, a socio-cultural organization with notable BJP officials among its members, organized the city's sole screening. Its leader, Suvendu Adhikari, is the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, and its president, Swapan Dasgupta, is a member of the BJP National Executive Committee.

For the unversed, the hugely controversial film Bengal Files was released amid a huge political row between the state's Opposition BJP and the ruling Trinamool Congress. The political movie sparked a massive political controversy in the state, as it allegedly portrays Hindu genocide in a distorted manner against the backdrop of the 1946 riots in Calcutta.
Producer-actor Pallavi Joshi claimed that theatre owners in Bengal were being 'threatened by the police' and warned of 'serious consequences' if they screened the film. "We have appealed to the President as well. As a woman, I have written to her personally, seeking a smooth release for our film," she said.
