The Bengal Files Box Office Collection Day 8: Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi starrer political drama movie hit the silver screens on September 5. The film recieved positive feedback from the audience but has been failing to match up to the hype. The Bengal Files has been struggling at the ticket windows and had a 50 per cent drop on the second Friday. Seeing the current pace, it seems difficult for the movie to sustain at the box office for a long time.

As per Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 55 lakhs on day 8. The net collection of The Bengal Files is Rs 11.8 crore. The film had an overall 26.08 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday. It had 11.17 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, 23.67 per cent in the afternoon shows, 26.41 per cent in the evening shows and 43.05 per cent in the night shows.

According to reports, the film was made on a budget of Rs 30 crore. It seems difficult for the movie to cross even the budget mark.

The movie is about tragic events surrounding the Great Calcutta Killings. The violence soon spread to the surrounding regions of the Bengal Presidency, including the Noakhali riots and incidents in Tipperah and Comilla. It is based on real incidents of communal violence. The story highlights events that significantly shaped India's path to independence and partition. The Bengal Files stars Pallavi Joshi, Palomi Ghosh, Mithun Chakraborty, Simrat Kaur, Namashi Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Saurav Das and Saswata Chatterjee in pivotal roles. The film has been directed by Vivek Agnihotri and backed by Vivek Agnihotri, Pallavi Joshi, Abhishek Agarwal, Tej Narayan Agarwal, and Archana Agarwal.
