The Bengal Files BTS: The Bengal Files, one of the most daring films in Indian cinema, was released by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. By skillfully alternating between the past and present, the movie illuminates the somber facts of August 16, 1946, Direct Action Day. In addition to generating national discussion, the film overcame an initial ban to get a special screening in West Bengal. Despite the film's successful theatrical run, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has allowed viewers to see behind-the-scenes on the sets.

Vivek Agnihotri posted a BTS video of The Bengal Files, revealing the enormous set, on social media. A sizable crew is shown in the video putting in endless hours of work with total dedication to make the movie a reality. After posting the video, the director wrote, "Come, see what goes behind the making of #TheBengalFiles."

Vivek Agnihotri's BTS video has over 24k views and 2.4k likes. Many hailed the filmmaker's efforts for the movie. A user wrote, "Thank you for showing the truth." Another user wrote, "The movie and characters were so real. We walked out of the theatre in silence as if taking those characters with us back home. This is as real as it can be." A third user wrote, "Most bold film in Indian history."

The Bengal Files Box Office Collection

The Bengal Files, a political drama directed by Vivek Agnihotri, saw a sharp decline in revenue on its twelfth day, highlighting the film's poor reception during its second week. Despite its initial buzz, the movie hasn't been able to keep up at the box office, especially with fierce competition from recent releases like Baaghi 4 and The Conjuring.

The Bengal Files' opened with Rs 1.75 crore on Friday and witnessed a surge on Saturday and Sunday with Rs 2.25 crore, Rs 2.75 crore respectively. However, weekday collections plummeted, falling to Rs 1.15 crore on Monday. Vivek Agnihotri's latest release performed poorly in terms of both scale and consistency, especially when compared to his 2022 release, The Kashmir Files.

The movie hit the big screens on September 5, 2025.
