The Girlfriend Box Office Collection Day 13: Rashmika Mandanna and Dheekshith Shetty’s Telugu romantic drama The Girlfriend, which hit cinemas on November 7, continues to face a steep fall at the box office. After a decent start during the opening weekend, the film has been unable to maintain its momentum and has been earning only in lakhs since the first weekday. Despite releasing in multiple languages, the movie has yet to touch the Rs 20 crore mark. The slow pace suggests the film may not be able to sustain for long unless collections show a sudden improvement.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, The Girlfriend collected Rs 0.29 crore on Day 13, bringing its total India net collection to Rs 16.64 crore. On Tuesday, the film recorded an overall Telugu occupancy of 13.07%, with a slight variation across show timings which includes 13.20% in morning shows, 15.14% in afternoon shows, 12.32% during evening shows, and 11.63% in night shows.
The Girlfriend opened with Rs 1.3 crore on Day 1, rose to Rs 2.4 crore on Day 2, and peaked at Rs 2.7 crore on Day 3. The weekday drop was sharp, and although the second weekend offered some relief, the numbers dipped again from Day 11 onwards.
The Girlfriend Movie Budget
Meanhwile, reports suggest that The Girlfriend has been made on a budget of Rs 42 crore, which means the Telugu film still needs a significant push to break even. With collections slowing down drastically after the second weekend, reaching a profitable figure looks challenging. While the film found some support from fans of Rashmika Mandanna, the overall response from the general audience has been mixed. If the film hopes to sustain in its third week, the numbers will need to pick up across regions, especially in the Telugu belt where the film was expected to perform better.
