The producers of The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond have denied reports that the teaser of the film was taken down from social media platforms following intervention by the court. The production house has issued a strong denial of the reports, terming them completely false. This is even as the Kerala High Court is currently involved in a legal battle with the film, seeking to review it before its release.

The Kerala Story 2 Makers Issue Official Clarification About Teaser Removal

The production house, Sunshine Pictures, has clarified that none of the courts has asked for the removal of the teaser or any promotional material. In their statement, the production house said that the case is sub judice, and no judgment has been passed on them to remove any material. They also requested the public and media not to circulate any information without verification at this stage of the case.

The statement read, “Sunshine Pictures would like to categorically clarify that the news currently circulating regarding the removal of The Kerala Story 2 easer is completely false, baseless, and misleading. The matter is presently sub judice. No judgment or order has been passed by any court directing the removal of any content.”

It was also reported earlier that the producers were ready to withdraw the teaser during the court proceedings, which further led to the confusion.

What Is The Legal Controversy?

A petition has been filed in the Kerala High Court against the film. According to reports, the petitioner stated that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) certified the film without following proper procedures under the Cinematograph Act, 1952. The petition further states that the teaser and trailer show incidents related to women from various states, but are largely associated with Kerala.

Debate Around The Film Continues

With legal proceedings ongoing, discussions around the film’s content and portrayal continue to attract attention. The film is set to release on February 27, 2026.
