Thug Life Kiss Row: Days away from its theatrical debut, Thug Life is one of the most eagerly awaited Tamil movies. The trailer, which was recently unveiled by the makers offended many on internet. While many criticised the kissing moment between Kamal Haasan and Abhirami, othes were thrilled.

Thug Life movie's kissing scene triggered social media debate about their age difference. Abhirami has now responded to the criticisim after filmmaker Mani Ratnam and Trisha Krishnan shared their take on it.

Thug Life actress Abhirami acknowledged that it's difficult to avoid public criticism these days and that controversies are inevitable no matter what in an interview with Hindustan Times. She went on to say that she had no business criticising filmmaker Mani Ratnam's choices in casting or vision.

Abhirami said, "The kissing scene is a three-second kiss! The fact that only that was shown in the trailer is a little misleading. When you watch the movie, the scene, and what leads up to the kiss, you won’t even flinch—it fits so well into the narrative. The fact that it’s being talked about this much, I feel, is a little unnecessary."

Abhirami said that the marketing team probably used the incident to promote their product even while such tactics are typical in the industry. However, she advised everyone to see the movie before drawing conclusions.

Abhirami stated in the same interview that she wasn't totally aware why the scene received so much attention. She speculated that it might be because Kamal Haasan has a track record of daringly tackling personal subjects in his movies.
