Vicky Kaushal is all set for his next project, titled Mahavatar. The movie will be directed by Amar Kaushik and it will be based on the life of Chiranjeevi Parashurama. If the reports are to be believed, Vicky is reportedly planning for a certain lifestyle change before beginning to work on this movie. The Chhaava actor is planning to quit non-veg and alcohol for Mahavatar.

Bollywood Hungama cited a source saying, "A film like Mahavatar requires complete focus, and the duo (Vicky Kaushal and Amar Kaushik) have decided to give it all to make it a pure spectacle for the cinema-going audience. They have decided to quit non-veg food, and will start their prep for the film with a grand pooja ceremony towards the middle of next year."

The source further noted, "While Amar has already given up on the food habits, Vicky has decided to do so once the shoot for Love And War is wrapped up. It’s his way of showing respect to the part of Lord Parashurama."

Mahavatar is expected to begin filming in 2026, with the makers now targeting a theatrical release in 2028. The film, which has already generated considerable buzz, was initially slated for a Christmas 2026 premiere. However, the timeline had to be pushed back significantly due to scheduling conflicts involving lead actor Vicky Kaushal. The delay, though unplanned, has reportedly allowed the team to further refine the project’s ambitious scale and creative vision, ensuring that when Mahavatar finally goes on floors, it lives up to the expectations surrounding this much-awaited venture.
