A few days ago, Urfi Javed shared that she got an opportunity to appear at Cannes Film Festival 2025 but she could not go there due to visa rejection. Days later to her previous statement, the social media influencer stated that walking the red carpet of Cannes is not a big achievement unless one’s movie is being premiered at the prestigious film festival. Urfi mentioned that popular brands buy their tickets and give them to influencers or celebrities to promote them. She further mentioned that individuals can buy tickets.

While sharing a post on her Instagram stories, Urfi Javed wrote “Going to Cannes is an opportunity which isn’t based on your merit. Brands buy tickets to the red carpet and give them to influencers/celebrities to represent the brand. Individuals can also buy tickets. Walking the Cannes red carpet is not an achievement, not even for me. It’s an opportunity to promote yourself. That’s the truth. Here I said it. Unless you’re film is being premiered at the festival (yeah then it’s an achievement), other than that anyone can do it (if you have money or brands are ready to sponsor you).”

Earlier, Urfi Javed revealed the reason behind missing out on going to Cannes this year. In an Instagram post, Urfi wrote, “I haven’t been uploading anything or been seen anywhere cause I was going through a phase. My business didn’t work. I tried a bunch of other different things only to face rejections." She added, “Got an opportunity to go to Cannes through Indie Wild. (Big big thank you to diipa khosla and kshitij kankaria) But as the fate would have it, my visa got rejected. Was working on a few crazy outfit ideas, my team and I were very disheartened. I’m sure a lot of you guys must be going through rejections yourself and I would love to know your stories.”

She further added, “After rejections, feeling dejected and crying over it is normal, in fact healthy. Even though I do cry, what happens after? Every rejection is an opportunity if you look carefully. After so many rejections in life. I ain’t stopping and so shouldn’t you.”

Apart from being a social media influencer, Urfi Javed has featured in shows like Follow Kar Lo Yaar, Bigg Boss, Meri Durga, Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhania, Daayan and Aye Mere Humsafar. Her last appearance in a show was Prime Video series Follow Kar Lo Yaar, which is based on her life.
