Disha Salian fell from the 14th floor of a residential building in the Malad area of Mumbai. According to a report in The Hindu, the Mumbai Police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR). They initially closed the case after concluding the death was due to suicide or an accident.

Disha Salian case reopens with fresh FIR
The CBI has officially reopened the investigation into the 2020 death of celebrity manager Disha Salian and registered a fresh FIR. As cited by PTI, the FIR names Aaditya Thackeray, Rhea Chakraborty, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, Rohan Roy and others for investigation.
This move follows a mandate from the Bombay High Court on September 2, 2026. The court directed the central agency to take over the case after flagging 'glaring discrepancies' in previous inquiries.
The court also noted that the unexplained nine-hour delay in conducting the spot panchanama raised reasonable suspicion.
The fresh FIR, registered by the CBI on September 13, 2026, expands the scope of the probe to investigate allegations of gang rape, murder, criminal conspiracy.
The FIR claims, "The persons whose roles require investigation in connection with the commission of the principal offences, criminal conspiracy, subsequent creation and propagation of the false suicide story and suppression, destruction and/or fabrication of evidence include Aaditya Thackeray, Rohan Roy, Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi, Aaditya Thackeray's bodyguards, Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Sachin Vaze, Param Bir Singh, DCP Vishal Thakur, Uddhav Thackeray, Anil Deshmukh, API Ashok Devadhe, PI Jagdev Kalapad, PI Shailendra Nagarkar, PI Chimaji Adhav, PI Arjun Rajane, concerned officers of Malvani Police Station."
