Saif Ali Khan has opened up about a bizarre piece of advice he received early in his career. A senior actor once told him to keep his marriage to Amrita Singh a secret from the public. Saif Ali Khan married Amrita Singh in 1991, just as he was trying to make his mark in Bollywood. At the time, Saif was 21 years old and Amrita was 33. Because Amrita was already a well-known star, a senior actor from an older generation warned Saif that being married could ruin his career. The actor believed that a married leading man would lose his female fan base.
Reflecting on the incident in a recent interview with News18, Saif Ali Khan shared how ridiculous he found the suggestion. "I remember that there was a senior actor from a different generation who told me not to tell anyone that I'm married. I don't know why he told me that. I think he was trying to say that it would have spoiled my image and fan following. It was the worst and most bizarre advice that someone ever gave me," he told News18.
While Saif Ali Khanchose to ignore the advice and stay honest about his personal life, other actors from that era handled the pressure differently. For example, Bollywood star Govinda did hide his marriage to Sunita Ahuja for about a year. His wife later revealed that they kept their wedding a secret because they feared it would damage his popularity as a young hero. They only announced their marriage after their first child was born.

Saif Ali Khan’s Family And Upcoming Films
Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh were married for 13 years and have two children together, actors Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, before divorcing in 2004. Looking back at the separation, Ibrahim recently shared that his parents handled the situation beautifully.
"Now my dad is much happier with Bebo (Kareena Kapoor), and I've got two very handsome and naughty brothers. And my mom is the best mother ever. She takes great care of me, and I live with her. It's all good," Ibrahim stated.
Saif Ali Khanmarried actress Kareena Kapoor in 2012, and they share two sons, Taimur and Jeh.
On the professional front, Saif is currently enjoying the success of his latest film, Kartavya. He will soon be seen in the upcoming movies Haiwaan and Hum Hindustani.
