Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and singer Palash Muchhal’s wedding, which was initially set for November 23, has been postponed hours before the wedding as Mandhana’s father had a heart attack-like situation. Hours later, Palash was also hospitalised. Amid the difficult situation, the cricketer’s old interviews have been going viral on social media. Among them, one clip about Smriti talking about the qualities she wants in her life partner has been circulating online. The video is from Kaun Banega Crorepati when she appeared with cricketer Ishan Kishan.
A fan asked her, “Smriti ma’am. You have so many male followers on Instagram. What are the qualities that you like in a man”. To which, she replied, “I did not expect such a question. Accha ladka ho - that is very important.” Amitabh Bachchan then asked her to elaborate. Smriti added, “He should be caring and understand my sport. That is two major qualities that he should have. Because as a girl I will not be able to give him that much time. That thing he should understand and he should care about. These are the things which are top priority. These are the qualities which I will look in a man.”
After the wedding was postponed, some eagle-eyed fans noticed that Smriti Mandhana quietly removed the proposal video and engagement announcement video from Instagram. The engagement announcement video features teammates Jemimah Rodrigues, Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav and Arundhati Reddy. The clip ended after Smriti flaunted her engagement ring.

As per reports, Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suffered heart attack-like symptoms on the morning of the wedding. He was rushed to Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Sangli. After which, all the rituals got postponed. Later, Palash was also hospitalised. His mother told Hindustan Times that the musician is very close to Smriti’s father and when he fell ill, Palash decided they should not go ahead with the wedding rituals until he gets better. She added, “He cried so much that his health suddenly deteriorated. They kept him in the hospital for four hours. He was given an IV drip, an ECG was done, and other tests were carried out. Everything came back normal, but he is under a lot of stress.”
