Sridevi Birth Anniversary: Bollywood is not new to cat fights and rivalries. Several big names have often made headlines for their feuds and below the belt remarks about one another. Sridevi and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's close and loving relationship became the talk of the town despite all the arguments. Were you aware that Aishwarya was previously given a priceless statement necklace made of polki by Sridevi?

Sridevi initially owned the gorgeous Sabyasachi exquisite neckpiece, which she wore to Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's wedding reception in Mumbai along with a black and blue Manish Malhotra saree. She later gifted that beautiful jewellery to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who made debut with a Mani Ratnam movie.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan later wore that stunning piece at Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta's wedding following Sridevi's demise. She was accpmpanied with her actor-husband Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya. The PS 1 actor looked lovely as always in a traditional red silk saree with golden work. Many believed that she was just showing off the ornate piece, but a few years later, celebrated fashion designer Manish Malhotra disclosed the real-reason.

According to a customary tradition, seasoned South heroines in Bollywood and new South heroines would refer to one another as 'Akka-Chelli,' which means 'elder and younger sisters' in Telugu. During an interview, Manish Malhotra revealed that Rekha called Vyjayanthimala Akka, Sridevi called Rekha Akka and then Aishwarya called Sridevi Akka. He even revealed that senior actors in South India have a custom of giving their personal belongings, such as jewelry and sarees, to younger actors. 

Sridevi Passed Away In 2018

Sridevi, who was born Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in 1963, was celebrated for her iconic roles in Hindi films like Chandni, Lamhe, Mr India, Chaalbaaz, Nagina, Sadma, and English Vinglish. The actor was a famed name in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films, in addition to being a Padma Shri recipient.

Sridevi was last seen in MOM, a 2017 crime drama. In fact, she received a National Award in the Best Actress category posthumously.  For those who are unaware, Sridevi drowned in her bathtub in Dubai by accident in 2018, which led to her death. Following in her footsteps, her daughters Khushi Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor are pursuing careers in acting.
