Social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, also known as The Rebel Kid, recently became a topic of discussion after her name was embroiled in India’s Got Latent controversy. She is currently seen participating in the Karan Johar-hosted reality show The Traitors. With her gameplay on the show, she has certainly managed to capture attention. Not only have her gaming skills stood out, but her friendship with Jannat Zubair has also grabbed the spotlight. However, her participation in the show garnered mixed reactions. Apoorva herself revealed that she shot for The Traitors before the India’s Got Latent controversy. She added that if she had done it afterwards, she would have been more careful with her words.

Apoorva Mukhija On Shooting The Traitors Before IGL Row

Apoorva Mukhija, in a recent conversation with ANI, spoke about the impact that India’s Got Latent controversy would have had on her if it had happened earlier. She said, “I actually did the show before the controversy, so it couldn’t have affected me. But had I done it after the controversy, I would have been a little bit mellower, more careful with my words. So I felt like I went all out because I had nothing to lose back then. And I was a much smaller artist. Had I done it later, I would have just been a little more mindful."

About India’s Got Latent Controversy: It all started after an episode of Samay Raina's show featuring Apoorva along with Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani as guests. Once the episode aired, it sparked a heated debate due to inappropriate remarks made by the guests. The row was not limited to the criticisms, but legal actions were also taken against all of them. Following the controversy, Apoorva revealed that not only did she receive hatred but her mother also received death threats and was slut shamed.

Apoorva also reacted to the response she has received for her performance in The Traitors. She stated, “I think I played the game with all my heart and all of my brain cells combined. And I knew that hate is never permanent. People’s perception changes. And I’m just so, so, so happy that through the show, I could do that. And the kind of love that I’ve gotten is just immense. It feels absolutely surreal."

Recently, Prime Video announced The Traitors season 2 and shared that it is officially in production.
