Mukesh Khanna’s solid portrayal of Shaktimaan transformed the character into a cultural icon. With his powerful morals, inspirational teachings and exciting adventures, Shaktimaan won over millions of hearts as India's first indigenous superhero. Shaktimaan was more than simply a fictional figure, and it was all possible because of Mukesh Khanna’s brilliant acting skills. Now, after several years of its magical presence, Shaktimaan can soon make a comeback, but this time on the silver screen. Director Basil Joseph is reportedly making a movie version of the show.

Shaktimaan’s movie remake is a hot topic of discussion among movie buffs as they eagerly wait to know the final cast of the project. Reportedly, actor Ranveer Singh has keen eyes on grabbing the offer, and the studio producing the movie is also willing to cast him for the lead role. Mukesh Khanna recently talked about the main lead of this new project and expressed his dislike towards Ranveer Singh’s casting. During an interview with Filmygyan, the veteran actor revealed that he would love to see Ranveer as the antagonist of the movie. Mukesh Khanna also expressed that, according to him, the new Shaktimaan should be mature enough to play the role.

He mentioned, “You can’t change my mind. You like Ranveer Singh, and I like him too. We’ve sat and talked for three hours, and he’s a very energetic actor. But I have openly said to his face, You can play Tamraj Kilvish (the story's villain). His face has a mischievous positivity. This actor — if you tell him to play Shaktimaan, you might enjoy it because he makes you dance, but you need someone mature enough to play Shaktimaan.”

The actor got candid about Ranveer Singh’s real-life image and said that it can hamper his reel image. “Maine kaha dekho, mereko Shaktimaan ke liye actor nahi chahiye, face bhi chahiye. Kahin na kahin real-life mein agar aapki image galat hai, toh who beech mein aati hai. Kayi log mujhe Ranveer Singh ke liye bolte hai ki arrey sahab yeh nashedi ko Shaktimaan mat banana, humare bachpan ki yaadien khatam ho jaayengi,” he exclaimed.

Similarly, Mukesh Khanna also took a jibe at Ranbir Kapoor for portraying Lord Ram in Nitish Tiwari’s Ramayana. In a recent interview with Galatta India, Mukesh expressed his doubts about Ranbir being able to pull off Lord Ram’s ‘Maryada Purushottam’ image, as Ranbir already has a negative image attached to himself after doing Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal.
