Zubeen Garg Death Case: Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19th in Singapore after a scuba diving mishap. A commercial flight took his mortla remains to Delhi first, and then to Guwahati on September 21st. Days after his death, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Kamrup placed Zubeen Garg's manager, Siddharth Sharma, and organiser of the North East Music Festival in Singapore, Shyamkanu Mahanta, under 14 days police custody in relation to the singer's passing. The two Delhi residents were taken into custody by Assam Police earlier on Wednesday.
Zubeen Garg's manager was taken into custody from an apartment in Gurugram, while Shyamkanu Mahanta was nabbed upon his arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi from Singapore. A senior police official told PTI that the two were taken to Guwahati early on Wednesday morning.
A 10-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Special DGP M P Gupta was established by the Assam government to look into the singer's death in Singapore on September 19 after she drowned in the water. Mahanta, Sharma, members of the Singapore Assam Association, and others who had traveled to Singapore for the festival were among the individuals who received notices from the SIT to come before it and provide statements.

A 'lookout notice' against Mahanta and Sharma was previously issued by Interpol, according to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who asked them to appear before the CID by October 6.
The Assam Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is looking into the circumstances surrounding the musician's death in Singapore on September 19, received an online complaint from Zubeen Garg's family, according to reports. The singer's uncle Manoj Borthakur, sister-in-law Pamie Barthakur, and wife Garima Saikia Garg filed the complaint. His family has accused his manager, Sidharth Sarma and the Northeast festival organiser in Singapore, Syamkanu Mahanta of 'negligence.'
Zubeen Garg was cremated in Kamrup district, close to Guwahati, with full state honours. Arun Garg, Rahul Gautam Sarma, and Palme Borthakur, the late singer's younger sister, lit the pyre and performed the final ceremonies. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju attended the final ceremonies along with Garg's close friend, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Thousands of admirers gathered outside the cremation site to bid adieu to Zubeen Garg.
With songs like Ya Ali, Chokher Jole, Dil Tu Hi Bataa, and Khuda Jaane to his credit, Zubeen Garg was well-known in the Hindi film industry. Over the course of his three-decade career, the singer has contributed his voice to numerous songs in Bengali, Hindi, Assamese, and other Indian languages. He played twelve different instruments in the past.
