Shah Rukh Khan's blockbuster film 'Pathaan' released in January accomplished to release of the film in Kashmir with sold-out tickets where in the last 32 years no other film could do that. With 'Pathaan' the houseful board managed to make a return to Kashmir's only theater as in the last 32 years no film managed to score a houseful record in the area.
However, with Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer', the film managed to break the record in just three days in the state by achieving the houseful milestone in Srinagar's lone multiplex. 'Oppenheimer' has a record-breaking opening weekend in India, collecting Rs 60 crore across 1923 screens in India.
The Cillian Murphy-led film stood out to witness the highest opening weekend for a Hollywood film in 2023 in India. Now, 'Oppenheimer' is witnessing a phenomenal response in Kashmir with sold-out tickets for the next three days as well.

This is also the first time that a Hollywood film has got a houseful status in Kashmir. According to a report in India Today, 'Oppenheimer' was released in Kashmir with Srinagar's INOX, the only multiplex to have a sold-out box office.
Talking about the film, 'Oppenheimer' features Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, and Matt Damon in pivotal roles. The film is based on the 'father of the atomic bomb', Robert J Oppenheimer, an American Scientist, and Physicist.
It is inspired by the 2005 biography 'American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J Robert Oppenheimer' written by Kai Bird and Martin J Sherman. The film also stars Rami Malek. Jason Clarke, Casey Affleck, Dane DeHaan, Josh Hartnett, and Kenneth Branagh.
