OTT platforms have become a new destination for entertainment for the audience as they can enjoy films and series in the comfort of their home. Streaming giants like Prime Video, Netflix, Hotstar, and Jio Cinema, among others, have set viewers' standards high in terms of entertainment.
Take a look at the list of movies and series releasing on the OTT platform this week.
1. Asur 2: June 1 (Jio Cinema)
Starring Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Sharib Hashmi and Amey Wagh in the lead role, 'Asur' will be back with its second season. The series will release on Jio Cinema on June 1, 2023. It is set in the backdrop of Varanasi and revolves around Nikhil Nair, a forensic expert-turned-teacher, who finds himself amidst brutal serial killings.
2. Evil Dead Rise: June 2 (BookMyShow)
'Evil Dead Rise' is expected to release on BookMyShow in India by June 2, 2023. It stars Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland as two estranged sisters, whereas, Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols, and Nell Fisher were seen in supporting roles. The movie revolves around estranged sisters trying to survive and save their family from demonic creatures.
3. Hatyapuri: June 2 (Zee5)
Directed by Sandip Ray, 'Hatyapuri' revolves around Pradosh Chandra Mitter, who visits Puri for a vacation but gets involved in investigating a murder that took place during his stay. The movie will release on Zee5 on June 2, 2023.
4. Manifest Season 4 Part 2: June 2 (Netflix)
'Manifest Season 4 Part 2' will release on Netflix on June 2. The show revolves around the passengers and crew of a commercial airliner who suddenly reappear after being presumed dead for five and a half years. It stars Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J. R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, Parveen Kaur, Matt Long, Holly Taylor, Daryl Edwards, and Ty Doran in the lead roles.
5. Mumbaikar: June 2 (Zee5)
Directed by Santosh Sivan, 'Mumbaikar; is the remake of the Tamil film Maanagaram and stars Vikrant Massey and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. The movie will release on Jio Cinema on June 2, 2023.
6. School Of Lies: June 2 (Disney+ Hotstar)
Starring Nimrit Kaur in the lead role, 'School Of Lies' is inspired by true events and is the story of a child's loneliness, disconnect and repression. There will be eight episodes in total in 'School Of Lies' and will release on Disney+ Hotstar on June 2, 2023.
7. Scoop: June 2 (Netflix)
'Scoop' revolves around the shocking murder of a journalist that thrusts a leading crime reporter into a nexus of police, media and the Mumbai underworld as she fights for justice. The web series will release on Netflix on June 2, 2023. Directed by Hansal Mehta, 'Scoop' stars Eshaan Pereira, Karishma Tanna, Harman Baweja, and Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub in the lead role. It is based on Jigna Vora's biographical memoir Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison.
