Idli Kadai OTT Platform: Dhanush and Nithya Menon starrer Tamil drama movie hit the screens and opened with mixed reviews. Netizens on social media have been appreciating the performance of the lead actors. Ahead of the box office performance, there is an update on the OTT platform. Audiences can watch the film on a popular streaming platform just right after its theatrical run. Excited to know who sealed the deal? Here is what we know.

Where To Watch Idli Kadai On OTT Post Theatrical Run?

As reported by Deccan Chronicle, Netflix has acquired the digital rights of Idli Kadai. The report suggested that the film is expected to stream on the platform sometime in November, after a four week theatrical run.

What Is The Plot Of Idli Kadai?

The family drama movie is about a wealthy hotel owner who is threatened by the success of a talented young idli vendor. When tasting the vendor’s idlis, the owner discovered the vendor is his long-lost son and the child of a former lover. The owner decided to transfer his wealth to his newfound heir, sparking a fierce conflict with his other son. Idli Kadai features Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Sathyaraj and Rajkiran in pivotal roles. It has been directed by Dhanush and produced by Dhanush, Aakash Baskaran under the production house Dawn Pictures. G. V. Prakash Kumar is the music composer of the film.

During the music launch event of Idli Kadai, Dhanush opened up about the title and said, “An idli kadai is a very important aspect of my childhood. We didn’t have any money during our childhood to buy idlis from the idli kadai in our place. So we started collecting flowers from the fields and sold them for money. My sister, cousins, and I would wake up at 4 am to do this every day so that we can have idlis from that shop. Nothing to this day beats the taste of those 4-5 idlis we bought with our hard-earned money. This film is my tribute to that place.”

“I thought what would happen if I made a film revolving around an idli kadai. It’s a story not only about that one store, but inspired by the whole village I grew up in and some very interesting real characters that impacted me strongly from a young age. Using those characters and elements, I created a fictional story for Idli Kadai. It’s a film about our culture and my roots,” he added.
