Kannappa OTT Release: Kannappa, the Telugu-language epic sage, hit the big screens on June 27, 2025. Starring Vishnu Manchu and Akshay Kumar, the film received a decent response despite its compelling storyline and star-studded cast. Kannappa has faced strong competition at the box office, especially from other major big releases, including Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par. Following the theatrical release, the makers are finally set to make the film's digital premiere soon. Read on to find out when and where it will stream and on which platform.

When And Where To Watch Kannappa Online?

Kannappa will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting September 4. Announcing the OTT date, Vishnu posted on X, “Witness the epic, spirit of sacrifice & divinity #KANNAPPA releases digitally on Sept 4, 2025 only on Prime Video. Har Har Mahadev. Har Ghar Mahadev.”

Kannappa Cast, Crew And Plot Details

Vishnu Manchu, who headlined the movie, also penned the screenplay of Kannappa. The epic saga was made under the home banner, with the backing of his father, Mohan Babu. Kannappa narrates the journey of Thinnadu (Vishnu Manchu), a fierce tribal hunter who transformed into Lord Shiva's ardent disciple. In the movie, Akshay Kumar plays Lord Shiva, marking his Telugu debut along with Prabhas as Rudra and Mohanlal in the role of Kirata. Preity Mukhundhan, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo, Madhubala, Aishwarya Bhaskaran, Brahmaji, Devaraj, Raghu Babu, Siva Balaji, Sampath Ram, Lavi Pajni, Surekha Vani and Kajal Aggarwal. Vishnu Manchu's son Avram Manchu made his acting debut in the movie by playing the childhood version of the titular character. Mukesh Kumar Singh's directorial is also said to be a powerful retelling of the mythological saga of a hunter whose sacrifice became legendary.

Kannappa Budget And Box Office Report

The movie was released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on June 27, in addition to the original Telugu version. The budget for the mythological film Kannappa is reported to be around Rs 200 crore. At the box office, Kannappa earned only Rs 36.65 crore in India and grossed Rs 41.75 crore worldwide, according to the Sacnilk report.
