Maalik OTT Release: Rajkummar Rao and Manushi Chhillar starrer gangster drama movie released in theatres on July 11. The film opened at the box office with mixed responses and had a moderate collection of Rs 3.35 crore. Maalik is about the story of a man’s journey from an ordinary life to being the most powerful person in the underworld. While the film is running in theatres, there is an update on the OTT platform of the movie.

As per reports, Maalik is set to premiere on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. Some reports also suggest that the gangster drama will start streaming from September this year. However, the official confirmation is awaited.

About Maalik

The movie features a stellar cast of actors, including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saurabh Sachdeva, Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Anshumaan Pushkar and Rajendra Gupta in key roles. The film has been directed by Pulkit and produced by Kumar Taurani and Jay Shewakramani. Sachin–Jigar and Ketan Sodha are the music directors of the movie. Maalik has a runtime of 2 hours and 29 minutes. It has been under the banners of Northern Lights Films and Tips Industries. Anuj Rakesh Dhawan has done the cinematography of the film.

While talking about why he didn’t feature action drama movie before, Rajkummar Rao told Zoom, “Maalik is certainly one of the few things that I wanted to do, and I was waiting for the right script. It’s not like action films weren’t offered to me before, but the story wasn’t there. For me, action is not just action—there has to be a story, and action should be a part of it. When Maalik came, I absolutely loved the script. I'm very glad that I got to play Maalik. There’s so much power in the title Maalik.”
