What's New On Prime Video In July 2025?

Heads Of State

Idris Elba, John Cena and Priyanka Chopra Jonas starrer action comedy Heads of State has been receiving rave reviews upon its arrival on the OTT platform. A story of the public rivalry between UK Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Elba) and US President Will Derringer (Cena) turns into an unlikely partnership when they become targets of a powerful adversary, forcing them to join hands and trust each other. Besides them, they team up with MI6 agent Noel Bisset (Chopra) to thwart a global conspiracy that threatens the entire free world.

Unbreakable Boy

An inspiring story of a young boy (played by Jacob Laval) with both a rare brittle-bone disease and autism, who transforms everyone around him, especially his father Scott (Zachary Levi), with his joyous optimism and life-affirming world view towards life. The film is written by Jon Gunn, Scott LeRette, and Susy Flory, and directed by Jon Gunn. Unbreakable Boy stars Zachary Levi, Meghann Fahy, and Jacob Laval in lead roles. It is available to stream on Prime Video since July 6 in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi.

Ballard Season 1

Based on the novels by Michael Connelly, Ballard is a spinoff of Bosch and Bosch: Legacy, created by Kendall Sherwood and Michael Alaimo for Prime Video. Ballard Season 1 stars Maggie Q as the determined LAPD Detective Renée Ballard, who navigates the gritty streets of LA while trying to outwit both criminals and colleagues amidst a sinister police conspiracy against her. The 10-episode series uncovers some devastating twists and a shocking web of corruption that threatens to destroy her. The cast includes Maggie Q, Courtney Taylor, and Michael Mosley.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 1

A new sequel to Dexter: New Blood and the original Dexter, featuring Michael C. Hall's return as beloved character Dexter Morgan. Dexter: Resurrection picks up from where Dexter: New Blood left off. After being shot by his son, Harrison, Dexter Morgan wakes up from a coma and heads to New York City to find his missing son. He tries to make amends for his troubled past. But his past isn't far behind as Miami Metro’s Ange Batisha arrived in the city, closing in with questions. Dexter's dark secrets threaten to unravel. Created by Clyde Phillips and directed by Marcos Siega and Monica Raymund, the series stars Peter Dinklage, Uma Thurman, and Jack Alcott, among many others. Dexter: Resurrection in India is available for streaming on Prime Video from July 12.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3

The third and final season of Prime Video’s young adult series starring Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno and Sean Kaufman is nearing its OTT release. Created by Jenny Han, the teen drama-romance is adapted from Jenny Han's best-selling books. The final chapter will explore Belly's (Lola Tung) complicated relationships with Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney) in 11 captivating episodes. Summers will never be the same, as the final season picks up two years after the events of the season 2 finale. At the end of her junior year at college, Belly is ready for another summer in Cousins with her boyfriend, Jeremiah and has everything planned out. But her life takes a twist when Conrad reenters her life. Finding herself at a crossroads, she must decide which brother has her heart. The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 will premiere with two episodes on July 16, followed by a new episode every week on Wednesdays until the series finale, which lands September 17, as per Variety.

Surf Girls: International

Reese Witherspoon's Surf Girls docuseries has been renewed for a second season. The original Surf Girls Hawai’i debuted in July 2023. The upcoming season will have an international twist. Surf Girls: International will take a deeper look into the lives of five up-and-coming female surfers representing their home countries as they travel the world competing in the Challenger Series. 

The story revolves around the main cast including Ewe Wong, Sophia Medina, Kika Veselko, Jessie Van Niekrek and Sol Aguirre. The docuseries is set to premiere on Prime Video starting July 17 2025.
