South OTT Releases This Week: This week's streaming platforms offer a large selection of South films and web series, giving viewers a lot of entertainment options from July 28 to August 3, 2025. The latest Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam movies from Netflix, ZEE5, SunNXT, ManoramaMAX, and other OTT platforms offer everything from epic criminal thrillers and touching family dramas to epic mythical grandeur.

Thammudu, a Nithiin-led movie that highlights a strong brother-sister bond, will be streaming on Netflix. The comedic drama Super Zindagi and the Malayalam family drama Surabhila Sundara Swapnam will both premiere on August 1. The latter, starring Mukesh and Dhyan Sreenivasan, will be available for streaming on ManoramaMAX. Many more new South movies and web series will be streaming on OTT platforms. Here is a list of the main South Indian OTT releases that are planned for July 28 to August 3 ranging from Thammudu, Surabhila Sundara Swapnam, Super Zindagi and much more:

Thammudu

Where to watch: Netflix

Thammudu narrates the tale of a brother who will stop at nothing to protect his sister. The owner, portrayed by Saurabh Sachdeva, attempts to exert pressure on authorities to ensure he is not held accountable for a devastating factory explosion in Vizag that claims multiple lives. Jai intervenes to rescue the day when Kiranmayi, an honest cop, is being pursued. Laya plays his sister Kiranmayi, and Nithiin plays Jai in the film. Varsha Bollamma and Sapthami Gowda also had prominent parts in the movie. Sacnilk claims that Thammudu made Rs 7.3 crore globally and Rs 5.25 crore in India.

Surabhila Sundara Swapnam

Where to watch: SunNXT

Surabhila Sundara Swapnam, a Malayalam film, will soon be available on streaming services. Tony Mathew's film will be available for streaming on Sun NXT starting on August 1. The main performers in this family drama are Dayyana Hameed, Rajalakshmi Rajan, and Paul Viji Varghese. Supporting parts are played by Sony Sojan, Beena Thankachan, Stebin, Subin Thidanadu, Kungfu Sajith, Sanju Nedunkunnel, Sanu Babu Mamparambil, Jayakumar Arayankavu, and Vishnuraj V R.

Bakaiti

Where to watch: ZEE5

In the film, Sheeba Chaddha and Rajesh Tailang portray the roles of middle-class family patriarchs. The program is brimming with laughter, emotions, and ordinary mayhem that seems both familiar and endearing. Bakaiti presents us to the Kataria family, who live together in the winding lanes of old Ghaziabad and are known for their amusing grudges, unending love, and minor bickering. It's about everyday life, emotions both expressed and unsaid, and how families always support one another through it all.

Red Sandal Wood

Guru Ramanujam, a first-time director, wrote and directed Red Sandal Wood. According to reports, the film was inspired by actual events. As per OTTPlay, the movie director said, "The incident that happened in 2015 deeply affected me. And I wanted to speak out against it and my pain and anger transformed into a screenplay."

Red Sandal Wood chronicles the adventures of a young person from North Chennai. Being a skilled boxer, he is at the center of a smuggling conspiracy. The film appears to be politically heated because it purports to expose the practice of Telugu states using woodcutters from Tamil Nadu to engage in smuggling. Innocent migrants who are used as scapegoats in this power struggle appear to be the subject of the film.

Super Zindagi

Where to watch: ManoramaMAX

Super Zindagi, which was directed by Vintesh, is primarily known for its amusing relationship between Dhyan and Mukesh. The young person played by Dhyan Sreenivasan thinks about living life to the fullest. Instead of going to work, he decides to live a leisurely life with the help of his girlfriend. travels to Bengaluru with Mukesh's character in pursuit of even greater pleasures. However, their journey takes a surprising turn that changes their lives as they get entangled in a complex issue. The trailer teases a mix of suspense and comedy.
