Several Pakistani celebrities Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar and others are no longer accessible to millions in India. The Indian government has blocked their Instagram account, citing a legal request. This comes in the wake of a terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. However, actor Fawad Khan’s Instagram appears to be safe for now. Among the Pakistani actors, Arsalan Naseer's account also got banned after which he took a direct dig at Fawad Khan, whose Instagram appears safe now. He accused Fawad of being behind the restriction of Pakistani actors' Instagram accounts in India.
Arsalan Naseer Blames Fawad Khan For Instagram Ban In India
Arsalan took to his X handle and called Fawad Khan 'Ice Age wali gilehri', a reference to Scrat, the iconic character from the Ice Age franchise with perpetual bad luck. He also pointed about Fawad's latest Bollywood outing Abir Gulaal, where he stars opposite Vaani Kapoor. Arsalan wrote, "Fawad Bhai film ap ne ki.... masla border pe shuru ho gaya.... ban mai ho gaya Mind na kerna lekin aap wo 'Ice Age' wali Gulehri hain…."
Arsalan is known for working in TV shows like Chupke Chupke, Hona Tha Pyar, Firqa e Ishq and Siyaah.
Who are the Pakistani actors whose Instagram accounts are banned in India?
The Pakistani actors who are highly popular among the Indian audience include Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan. Mahira have worked in Bollywood in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees. Ali Zafar has also worked in Indian cinema in films like Total Siyapaa, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Dear Zindagi, Kill Dil and others. Since Wednesday evening, Instagram accounts have been unavailable in India. Their handles read, "Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content." Other Pakistani celebrities include Sanam Saeed, Bilal Abbas, Momina Mustehsan, Iqra Aziz, Imran Abbas, and Sajal Aly.
Notably, Fawad, Mawra Hocane, and Atif Aslam's accounts are still accessible in India.
On April 22, a group of armed terrorists emerged from the woods and targeted tourists at the popular tourist spot Baisaran Meadows in South Kashmir. This deadly incident claimed 26 lives of tourists and several injuries. This increased the already tension between India and Pakistan.
