Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar was recently found dead in her Karachi flat on July 8, 2025. The young actress was found in a state of advanced decomposition. Her body was discovered only after her landlord filed a complaint over unpaid rent. After undergoing an investigation, the police officials discovered some shocking details. The actress lived alone and had no other occupants on her floor.

Humaira Asghar’s home was completely locked, and just the balcony door was left open, which must have masked the rotting smell of her dead body, as per a report in Arab News. DIG South Asad Raza was quoted as saying, “The expiry dates of food and drinks in the refrigerator are from September 2024. The last outgoing and incoming activity on her phone also dates back to October 2024. Both SIMs in her phone have been inactive since then. Electricity to the apartment was disconnected around the same time due to non-payment of bills.” Rusted pipelines and jars were also found in her home.

Police also noted that Humaira’s last text message was from a ride-hailing service, and the last WhatsApp message was seen on October 7, 2024. The actress also last appeared to be active on her social media in September 2024.

In a shocking revelation made by the officials, police stated that Humaira’s family has refused to claim her body. DIG Asad said, “Her father declined to take custody (of her body).” According to a report in Dawn, several members of the entertainment industry and the Sindh Culture Department have taken responsibility for Humaira’s burial.

Humaira Asghar was a popular actress and model who featured in movies like Jalaibee and reality shows like Tamasha Ghar. She rose to fame after participating in the reality show Tamasha Ghar, which is similar to the show ‘Big Brother.’ Though she was eliminated in the fifth week, her popularity brought her back to the show. She has over 713K followers on Instagram and remained quite active on social media until she made her last post in September 2024.
