The much-anticipated directorial debut of Malayalam actor Joju George, Pani, has finally unveiled its first full-length trailer. Released on October 16 via the film's social media pages, the trailer hints at an intense gangster drama with George leading the charge. The movie is set to release in theatres on October 24 and will be available in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. However, there’s still no confirmation if the film will be released in all five languages simultaneously.
Joju George, known for his versatile acting in Malayalam cinema, steps into the director’s chair for the first time with Pani. He also stars in the film, playing a character named Giri. The trailer showcases George in a gritty, powerful role, raising expectations for a gripping and emotional storyline.
The team behind Pani is currently wrapping up post-production and full-scale promotions are expected to begin shortly. Back in August, George shared a poster on his Instagram account, giving fans a sneak peek of his character. The poster, drenched in bold hues of red, orange, and yellow, was captioned, “PAIN CHANGES PEOPLE... Finally, my directorial debut Pani is coming to cinemas this September. 60 plus new faces, 100 plus shoot days, 1000s of junior artists, in a big budget, in five languages. Thank you to my entire team. Updates soon.”

While Pani marks Joju George's debut as a director, the film also features his writing talent. The actor-director had first revealed the film’s first-look poster back in May, building anticipation for its release. Alongside a thrilling narrative, the movie boasts an impressive technical team. Cinematography is handled by Venu ISC, editing by Manu Antony and DI colouring by Liju Prabhakar. Vishnu Vijay, the film’s music director, is also on board to enhance the film’s emotional depth with his compositions.
Though the full details of the storyline remain under wraps, Pani promises to deliver a fresh take on the gangster genre, with 60-plus new faces, a large crew of junior artists and extensive on-location shoots adding to its appeal. Fans of Joju George are eagerly waiting to see the actor in a new avatar, both as a performer and as a filmmaker.
