A complaint has been filed against the makers of Prabhas and Kriti Sanon's much-anticipated movie Adipurush infront of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) board. This came after the trailer of Adipurush was officially shared by the makers on May 11. Though the teaser was not liked by the audience for its 'poor' VFX and the apearances of the actors, the viewers hailed the trailer for improvisation.
According to a report in Free Press Journal, the complaint has been filed by Sanatan Dharma Pracharak Sanjay Dinanath Tiwari through Bombay High Court Advocate Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra.
According to the lawsuit, the filmmaker and the illustrators allegedly committed severe errors in the film's posters multiple times in the past. The complaint went on to state that there is a good chance that flaws committed by the filmmakers during the publication of the poster and teaser will also be found in the finished product, thereby offending the religious sensibilities of followers of Sanatan Dharma.
The trailer of Adipurush was unveiled on May 9, 2023. The trailer features major events of Ramayana in an impressive way. It starts with Lord Hanumana telling the tale of Raghava who went on to become a God after being born a human. Watch the trailer here:
The clip also has a glimpse of Ravana who could be seen praying in front of a huge shivling. He listens to a voice which says, "Brahmand mein tu jo bhi paane layak hai tu pa chuka hai, fir bhi tu rakshas hi hai. Lakshmi ko paale, Narayan ho jayega (you have already acquired everything that was worthy in the universe but you are still called a devil. Acquire Lakshmi and you will become Lord Vishnu)."
Adapted from the Sanskrit epic Ramayana, Adipurush is an upcoming mythological film, produced by T-Series and Retrophiles. The movie is written and directed by Om Raut and was concurrently filmed in Hindi and Telugu. Adipurush stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan who makes his Telugu debut, as well as Sunny Singh and Vatsal Sheth in significant parts.
