Priyanka Chopra, who is currently busy promoting her film Love Again, shared an interesting detail about her Hindu wedding ceremony with Nick Jonas in 2018. Unlike a typical Western Christian wedding, their Hindu ceremony was held at night, causing Jonas' family to almost fall asleep. Chopra explained the reason for this and shared the anecdote as part of the film's promotions.
The elaborate wedding celebrations of Priyanka and Nick at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur included Nick's entire family, from his parents to his brothers and their partners. The couple had both a Hindu wedding ceremony at night and a Christian wedding ceremony during the day.
Now, speaking to British Vogue, Priyanka Chopra divulged that her Hindu wedding ceremony took place at 10 pm and Nick's family, who had flown in from America, were struggling to stay awake due to jet lag. Priyanka also spoke about the couple's recent The Simpsons meme, which she found both bittersweet and ironic given that she was in an Indian dress marrying a white man.
"This is from our Hindu wedding. It's done according to astrological charts and the auspicious time was 10 o'clock at night and everyone had flown done from America. They were just so jet-legged. I could just see my husband glaring at his family cause they were nodding off. This was really bittersweet and funny because obviously The Simpsons are an iconic part of most of our childhoods. But it was also the irony of me in an Indian dress marrying a white guy. Great," she said.

During the interview, Priyanka also discussed the first photo of her daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, who was born via surrogacy and had to spend 110 days in the hospital before coming home.
Priyanka shared that her daughter's experience inspired her to not take life too seriously and to remember that small crises are not the end of the world. She described her daughter as a warrior and her daily inspiration.
