Coolie OTT Rights Sold: The highly anticipated movie Coolie, starring South superstar Rajinikanth, is undoubtedly one of the most eagerly awaited movies of the year from the Tamil cinema universe. The production team of this pan-Indian film has recently completed its shoot and the movie is currently in the post-production stage, with its theatrical release slated for the second half of the year. As excitement builds up among fans, there is also buzz surrounding the film's OTT rights, which have reportedly been sold to a streaming giant.

If the reports are to be believed, the OTT rights of Coolie have been acquired by Prime Video for a staggering Rs 110 crore.

While this news has been widely circulated on social media platforms, an official confirmation from the production team is still awaited. However, if the rumoured amount is indeed true, it would make Coolie one of the most lucrative OTT deals in recent times.

About the movie: The highly anticipated Indian Tamil-language action thriller film, Coolie, is set to take the world by storm. Directed by the visionary Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran's esteemed Sun Pictures, this film boasts an impressive ensemble cast. The legendary Rajinikanth takes center stage, supported by a talented group of actors, including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR and Monisha Blessy.

The journey of Coolie began in September 2023, when the project was officially announced under the tentative title Thalaivar 171, signifying Rajinikanth's 171st film as a lead actor. The official title, Coolie, was later revealed in April 2024, generating immense excitement among fans. Principal photography commenced in July 2024 in Chennai, followed by intermittent schedules in various locations, including Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur and Bangkok. After a whirlwind production journey, filming wrapped up by mid-March 2025.

The film's technical crew is equally impressive, with Anirudh Ravichander at the helm of music composition, Girish Gangadharan handling cinematography, and Philomin Raj taking care of editing. With its global release slated for 2025 in both standard and IMAX formats, Coolie is poised to captivate audiences worldwide with its thrilling narrative, stunning visuals, and outstanding performances.
