Jailer 2's Success and Sequel
Jailer 2 follows the tremendous success of the original Jailer, released in 2023, which captivated audiences with its gripping narrative and powerful performances. The film grossed around Rs 604.5 crore, making it one of the highest-grossing Tamil films ever and prompting the makers to create a sequel crafted with equal intensity and grandeur. The first movie starred Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, and Yogi Babu in key roles, with special appearances from Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff.
In January, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the makers officially announced the sequel with a special promo. The clip featured director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander, who were seen relaxing in a Goa house before being disturbed by goons. The goons are swiftly eliminated with knives and guns and then in a signature move, Rajinikanth makes a stylish entry.
