Rajveer Deol On Escaping The Stereotype Of Action Films: Rajveer Deol, the younger son of actor Sunny Deol, is gearing up for his Bollywood debut as an actor. Nevertheless, during a recent interview, Rajveer admitted that due to his father's iconic action-hero image, there was a widespread expectation that he would enter the entertainment industry with an action film.

"I have such a shadow of my father that I have to make my own way. Everyone expects me to do an action film on top of that. So I'm just curious to know how the public will conceive me," Rajveer told News18.

"I don't blame them because they're such fans of my dad. They've seen him succeed in that (action films) so much and he's done it so well. They just want the new generation to have, I guess, a new version of my dad for them to follow. For me to be that, it's asking for too much. And it's not natural as well.

"It's different times, different lives that we grew up in. But I can't blame them for comparison. You can't stop them. The best way is to ignore it, and keep working at it, what you think is best for you," he added.

Sunny Deol has recently tasted success with his action-packed movie 'Gadar 2,' which has raked in an impressive Rs 522 crore at the domestic box office. Directed by Anil Sharma, this film served as a sequel to their 2001 blockbuster 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,' known for its action romance. Sunny Deol has built a reputation for himself as a prominent figure in the action film genre, with a string of hits including 'Ghayal,' 'Ghatak,' 'Border,' and 'Arjun,' among others.

Nonetheless, he marked his entry into Bollywood with a romantic movie, 'Betaab' (1983), directed by Rahul Rawail. Sunny also introduced his older son, Karan Deol, to the industry with the romantic film 'Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas' in 2019.
