Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, is facing both public and legal criticism following his 'will you watch your parents have sex?' remark on comedian Samay Raina's India's Got Latent. After his remarks created an uproar, Mumbai police arrived at the YouTuber's home on Tuesday.

All About Ranveer Allahbadia's Controversy

Ranveer Allahbadia asked, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?" to the contestant in the widely shared video from the show. He later apologised for his 'lapse of judgement' in the wake of the controversy. The YouTuber also admitted 'comedy is not my forte' in his video apology. 

Ranveer Allahbadia was nonetheless held accountable by many for his controversial remarks. So much so that the majority of began calling for severe legal action against him, filing formal complaints, and even banning him and his content permanently. Soon, the social media hostility and pushback against him and his career became real.

On February 10, singer B Praak announced that he will no longer be appearing on Ranveer Allahbadia's BeerBiceps podcast.

He lost almost 50,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel Beer Biceps since Monday (February 10), and 20,000 to his other YouTube channel, Ranveer Allahabadia. In addition to losing 70,000 subscribers overall on YouTube, he has lost 72,000 Instagram followers, reportedly.

Social media trended hashtags like #boycott_ranveerallahbadia and #unfollow_ranveer_allahbadia, with many urging one another to unfollow the well-known YouTuber.

Legal Action For Ranveer Allahbadia? Netizens REACT 

A Parliamentary panel on information technology is debating whether to summon Allahbadia in response to complaints from a number of Members of Parliament. In the midst of this, internet users comment on the debate and point out that the problem is being overblown.

A user named @Boycot564546 said, "Well said I agree I do understand what ranveer said was gross disgust but all This news wasted on him don’t like him boycott that’s it why waste so much news on this topic seems silly."

Another person named @Kushal_Mehra wrote, "Ridiculous!!!! What a shameless situation. What was his crime? He cracked a pathetic generic joke!!"

The third person, named @NagleAniruddha wrote, "Well this is too much...!! He not commited any crime.. yes his commets are objectionable.. and I hope both @ReheSamay and @BeerBicepsGuy have learned their lesson.. but this is too much.. not at all acceptable..."

An X (previously Twitter) user by the name @AceAmarX wrote, "If only these guys were quick enough to deal with criminal politicians and women and their families who’ve been harassing men to death."

A user named @AnathpindikaS wrote, "First we encourage creators of such crass stuff by making them big on social media, as if they were some sort of serious philosophers. Then we cry foul when they supposedly cross the limits of "public decency & morality". Give up the humbug please!#RanveerAllahabadia #Mumbai."

Ranveer Allahbadia's statement was neither amusing nor appropriate, and he certainly shouldn't have said it. However, despite his words, sending him to jail would be an excessive response. What do you think?
