Retro Box Office Collection Day 5: It seems that the Suriya-starrer Tamil action movie Retro is facing challenges in maintaining momentum at the box office. The movie, which debuted in theatres on May 1, clashed with Nani's HIT 3 on the same day. After a decent opening weekend, the Suriya starrer saw a massive drop on Monday. Despite this, it has managed to surpass Chiyaan Vikram’s latest release Veera Dheera Sooran's collection at the Indian box office. Let's take a look at how much Retro earned on Day 5.
Retro Box Office Collection Day 5:
Suriya and Pooja Hegde's Tamily movie made Rs 3.40 crores, with a drop of 58.28%, the total net collection on its fifth day in India stands at Rs 46.55 crore. The film opened with Rs 19.25 crore on Day 1, followed by a dip in the earnings and gathered with a little jump on the first weekends. It scored Rs 8 Cr on Saturday and Rs 8.15 Cr on Sunday, as per Sacnilk's report.
Looking at Retro's worldwide collection, it stands at Rs 78.00 crore while overseas earnings of Rs 23.10 crore. Jump from the opening weekend collections.
Retro has surpassed Chiyaan Vikram's Veera Dheera Sooran at the Indian box office, with a total net collection of 46.55 crores as compared to the latter's collection of Rs 42.71 crores. This achievement propels Retro to become the 5th highest-grossing Kollywood film in 2025.
HIT 3 Vs Retro Box Office Collection
Retro faced a clash with Tourist Family and HIT 3. Majorly, it saw clashing with Nani starrer, which took over 60% hit on its Monday earnings and scored Rs 3.65 crore.
About Retro Movie: Suriya and Pooja Hegde starred in the lead alongside Baby Aavni, Joju George, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, and Sujith Shankar. The Tamil romantic action film has been written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The movie revolves around the life of a gangster and his present-day life with his wife. The Tamil movie brings the themes of violence, and self-discovery with a blend of action and romance.
