Rohit Shetty's next venture 'Singham Again' is one of the much-awaited films in the coming years and has been doing rounds on the internet due to its casting issues. During the launch of 'Cirkus', the director revealed that Deepika Padukone has been finalised to play the role of 'Lady Singham' making her the first female cop in his cop universe.
However, several reports online claim that for 'Singham Again', actor Vicky Kaushal was earlier roped in, but now the actor has walked out of the film. Clearing the rumours, Rohit Shetty clarified the ongoing buzz and issued a statement.

According to a report in India Today, the statement read, "There have many speculations doing rounds about the star cast in Rohit Shetty's next directorial, 'Singham Again'. The film is currently in pre-production. We kindly request the media to refrain from making any premature announcements at this stage. We will be making an official star cast announcement soon."(sic)

Vicky Kaushal had to back out of the film due to his busy schedule. The report stated, "Vicky Kaushal was very keen to do a front-footed mass film for Rohit Shetty and had even decided on his look for 'Singham Again'. However, the dates of shooting for 'Singham Again' are clashing with the shooting dates of 'Chhava'."

It further read, "He has a certain look from the period era in 'Chavva' and that can't be replicated in a modern film like 'Singham Again'. After making all attempts to set things up for 'Singham Again', he couldn't and informed his decision to Rohit Shetty. Being a thorough professional, Rohit too understood his plight."
Now, the rumour mill states that Tiger Shroff might do a cameo in the film. The report mentioned, "It's a cameo appearance for Tiger Shroff in 'Singham Again' and Rohit plans to introduce him as a new cop to the universe. Much like his 'Singham', 'Simmba', and 'Sooryavanshi', Tiger Shroff too will have his own distinct identity in the cop universe with traits unique to his personality."

Rohit Shetty will next be seen directing Sidharth Malhotra's 'Police Force' web series which also features Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi in lead roles marking his digital debut. The web series will stream on Amazon Prime Video.
