The accused was produced before a local court in Mumbai and was sent to the Judicial custody till January 29. During the hearing, the Mumbai Police told the court that digital facial recognition is needed to confirm that he is the same person in the CCTV footage.
A report by ETimes suggests that the attacker will undergo a digital facial recognition test (FRT) at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Kalina. The CCTV footage captured the intruder climbing from the 6th to the 11th floor of Saif’s building Satguru Sharan and fleeing between 1:30 am and 2:30 am.
As per the portal, an officer said, “Facial recognition should match the face captured by CCTV footage at Saif's building. Forensic examiners will consider the overall shape and structure of the face during the analysis.”
