Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently opened up about the challenges she faced while shooting action scenes for Citadel: Honey Bunny. Despite undergoing treatment for myositis, a condition that affects the muscles, she powered through the demanding schedule of the spy-action series.
In an interview with Cinema Express, Samantha revealed that her health often made it difficult to shoot. "There were days when I had an IV in the morning and still managed to film action sequences in the afternoon. It was intense every day, and I wasn’t always sure I could make it," she shared. The actor added that there were moments when her co-director, Raj, would check in on her, asking if she was up for filming. "Somehow, I just managed to push through," Samantha said.

Samantha has proven time and again her dedication to her craft. She first gained recognition with her debut in Ye Maaya Chesave (2010), a Telugu romantic film where she starred alongside Naga Chaitanya. More recently, she became a Pan-India sensation with her special appearance in the hit song Oo Antava from Pushpa: The Rise (2021). Her latest film, Kushi (2023), co-starring Vijay Deverakonda, also received positive reviews.
About Citadel: Honey Bunny
In Citadel: Honey Bunny, Samantha stars alongside Varun Dhawan as the duo takes on the roles of spies named Honey and Bunny, respectively. Varun’s character, Rahi Gambhir, is later revealed to be the father of Nadia Sinh, portrayed by Priyanka Chopra in the original Citadel (2023). Directed by Raj and DK, this highly anticipated spin-off also features notable actors like Kay Kay Menon, Simran Bagga, Sikandar Kher, and Saqib Saleem.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the release of Citadel: Honey Bunny, which is set to premiere on November 7, 2024.
