Comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina has issued a public apology and removed all episodes of his comedy show, India’s Got Latent, from YouTube. The decision follows the backlash surrounding influencer Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks on the show, which triggered widespread criticism and legal action.
In his first response since the controversy erupted, Raina expressed that the situation had become overwhelming for him. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote:
"Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you."

The controversy began after Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, made comments about parents and sex during an episode of India’s Got Latent. The remarks quickly went viral on social media, leading to public outrage and multiple police complaints in Mumbai and Guwahati. On Monday, Allahbadia issued an apology, calling his statements a "lapse in judgment," but the criticism continued to escalate.
The Maharashtra Cyber Department has since registered an FIR against the show and summoned over 40 individuals, including Allahbadia and Raina, for questioning. Authorities are currently investigating the matter, and Raina has assured full cooperation with the inquiry.
Additionally, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned key figures associated with the show, including Raina, Allahbadia, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani and producers Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra. They have been asked to appear before the commission on February 17 in New Delhi.
The controversy has also gained political attention. Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske raised the issue in Parliament, calling for stricter laws to regulate social media content. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized the language used on the show, further fueling public discourse on the matter. Following the backlash, YouTube has also taken down the viral video containing Allahbadia’s controversial comments. The platform's action aligns with growing concerns about inappropriate content circulating online.
