Sanam Teri Kasam 2: Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao, the movie's directors, have stated their intention to add a sequel to the franchise ever since Sanam Teri Kasam was re-released in theatres.

Sanam Teri Kasam duo enthusiastically agreed to the proposal that Shraddha Kapoor could be cast as the female lead in Sanam Teri Kasam 2 during an interview with Instant Bollywood. Hearing this, Radhika said, "Shraddha ko please tag kardo." 

For the unversed, Shraddha Kapoor's fan base is enormous, and they never stop cheering her on. Stree 2, starring Kapoor, broke all previous box office records in 2024. The horror comedy also starred Rajkummar Rao in the lead role.

Sanam Teri Kasam ends with Saru's (Mawra Hocane) death in Inder's (Harshvardhan Rane) arms. Therefore, the protagonist's life will probably have a new lady. However, the internet was divided about the director duo's enthusiasm for Shraddha Kapoor.

The potential of Shraddha Kapoor joining the sequel went viral quickly. A user wrote, "Mawra >> no hate to Shraddha but Mawra nhi hogi to part 2 nahi." Another user commented, "No, Saru is the bestest for Sanam Teri Kasam 2, people don't want to see any other face as a Saru, I like Shraddha but not in role of Saru." The third user commented, "Hum dekhne hi nahi jayenge over acting ki dukan ko, only Mawra and Harsh are the best."

The purpose of re-releasing Sanam Teri Kasam on the silver screen was fulfilled after the phenomenal response. With the re-release, Harshvardhan Rane's movie has changed its destiny, despite ending its 2016 box office run as a failure. 

Sanam Teri Kasam is facing fierce competition with Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava. Additionally, the movie was released with other releases, such as Loveyapa, Thandel and Badass Ravikumar. The fact that the re-release is still drawing crowds to theatres is praiseworthy.

Movie enthusiasts choose to pay to see Sanam Teri Kasam in a theatre even while it is accessible on ZEE5.
