Selena Gomez is a globally known pop star and actress. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, she shared a deeply personal aspect of her life, discussing her plans for motherhood. The 32-year-old singer and actress revealed that due to ongoing medical issues, she is unable to carry her own children. This marks the first time Gomez has spoken publicly about her struggles with fertility.
Gomez, who underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 after battling lupus for several years, explained how this medical condition affects her ability to have a natural pregnancy. “I unfortunately can’t carry my own children,” Gomez shared. “I have a lot of medical issues that would put both my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.”

Despite the initial sadness, Gomez has come to terms with her situation and is optimistic about other possibilities. “It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it,” she said, referring to her path to motherhood. “But I’m grateful that surrogacy and adoption are wonderful options for people who want to be moms, like me.”
Selena Gomez, who has been dating record producer Benny Blanco since July 2023, shared how her relationship reinforced her focus on family. She explained, “I was single for five years, except for a few dates, and I realized family is the most important thing to me.” While Gomez’s motherhood journey may not follow a conventional path, she is excited about the future. “At the end of the day, I don’t care how it happens. It’ll be my baby,” she said, embracing the idea that love and family go beyond biological ties.
