Shah Rukh Khan To Charge Over Rs 100 Crore For Dunki Amid Jawan’s Success? Here’s The Truth

Shah Rukh Khan is currently basking in the success of his recent release ‘Jawan’ directed by Atlee. The film hit theatres on September 7 and opened up to big numbers at the box office. ‘Jawan’ has already crossed the Rs 350 Crore mark in India and the Rs 600 Crore mark worldwide. The film also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, and features Shah Rukh Khan in dual roles. The actor will next be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ alongside Tapsee Panuu, marking the end to a fantastic year.

However, several reports alleged that Shah Rukh Khan has updated his remuneration structure for Rajkumar Hirani, and is all set to charge over Rs 100 Crore post the success of ‘Jawan.’ According to a report in News18, ‘King Khan’ was supposed to charge Rs 100 Crore for ‘Dunki’ too. However, looking at the massive success of his recent release, the star decided to vouch in and increase his fee structure.

Soon, a close friend of Shah Rukh Khan rubbed off all such reports and termed them to be ‘false’ and ‘untrue.’ The report in News18 mentioned the statement of the person. It read, “Since you are asking me, I am telling you why and how these reports make no sense. Firstly, no actor in the world goes running to a producer to hike his salary just because his last or last two or three films are successes, and especially when the film is under production. Dunki is almost complete. SRK signed and started the film around the same time as Jawan. On what ground would he ask for more money? Kyonki meri film hit ho gaye mujhe aur paise do?"

The individual also said that Shah Rukh Khan shares a positive bond with Rajkumar Hirani and is not a ‘greedy’ person. The report stated, “He has never lowered his fee after a flop nor hiked it after a hit. He is way above all this. For Dunki, he has received exactly the remuneration that was agreed on when he signed it, not a penny more or a penny less."

‘Dunki’ will mark the first time collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani, and also the first time onscreen collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan with Tapsee Pannu. 'Dunki' might have an extended cameo appearance of Vicky Kaushal.
