Sharmin Segal, known for her role as Alamzeb in the series 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' recently posted pictures from her look test. She's related to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Playing the role of Alamzeb, Mallikajaan’s youngest daughter, Sharmin, who is also related to SLB, marked her acting debut, though it didn't resonate well with the audience. Criticism flooded social media platforms, prompting Sharmin to disable comments on her posts and eventually take a hiatus from Instagram.

Despite her familial ties and past achievements, some viewers accuse Sharmin Segal's success of being solely due to nepotism, sparking intense criticism of her acting. While her co-stars receive praise, Segal faces backlash for what some consider stiff performances and undeserved casting. Now, the actress took to her Instagram and shared her 'look test' images with the caption "Alamzeb look tests, #heeramandi" along with emojis. Sharmin Segal previously shared a photo from a magazine shoot, which attracted a slew of negative comments. One user remarked, "I really don't like her as Alam... no expression, same expression?" Another added, "Alamzeb was such a beautiful character but SLB cast his wooden, expressionless niece. Everytime she was on screen it was a yawn fest. Didn't like her one bit. Sharmin made her OTT debut in 'Heeramandi,' sharing the screen with Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Shekhar Suman, and Aditi Rao Hydari. For the unversed, she is the daughter of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sister, Bella Bhansali Segal. Sharmin her career as an Assistant Director (AD) before transitioning into acting. Her acting debut came in 2019 with the film 'Malaal,' where she starred alongside Meezan Jafri. She also appeared in the horror comedy 'Atithi Bhooto Bhava.'
