Star Twitter Review: The Tamil romantic drama film penned and helmed by Elan, hit theaters on May 10, 2024. The film stars Kavin in the lead role, alongside Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, Preity Mukhundhan, and Geetha Kailasam. The storyline revolves around Kalai, a young man who relentlessly pursues his dream of becoming an actor despite facing numerous challenges. It is a joint venture between B. V. S. N. Prasad and Sreenidhi Sagar, produced under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Rise East Entertainment.
After a special premiere screening of Star many took to social media to drop their reviews. A user wrote, "A must watch film for all young people who are born in a normal family and strive to achieve. About Star Movie
Star boasts a skilled ensemble, with Kavin starring as Kalai, a hopeful actor. Lal portrays Kalai's father, while Geetha Kailasam embodies the role of Kalai's mother. Aaditi Pohankar takes on the character Jimikky, and Preity Mukhudhan brings Meera Malaikodi to life.
Initially, Harish Kalyan was slated to play the protagonist, but he was later replaced by Kavin. The project was announced in August 2023 with the working title 'Kavin's Next,' which was officially changed shortly after. Principal photography began in June 2023, primarily in Chennai, wrapping up by mid-February 2024. The film features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Ezhil Arasu K, and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav.
