Shreyas Talpade has shared an exciting update about the much-awaited Golmaal 5, the next instalment in the hit comedy franchise. The actor, who plays a recurring character in the Golmaal series, revealed in a conversation with News18 that he is hopeful the film will hit theatres next Diwali, in 2025.

Rohit Shetty, the director known for his cop universe films, initially announced the fifth instalment of Golmaal before the pandemic struck, causing delays. However, with things getting back on track, Shreyas expressed his eagerness to get back on set for Golmaal 5. He reminisced about the fun they had on the sets of the previous films, where they often struggled to keep a straight face due to the hilarious scenes.

Shreyas also noted a shift in comedy in recent years, highlighting a lack of comedic ensemble films like Golmaal and Housefull. He mentioned that these films, known for their rib-tickling humour, continue to be popular through memes even today, showcasing their timeless appeal. Shreyas emphasized the importance of making films that genuinely entertain the audience, rather than just being projects.
