Sikandar vs L2 Empuraan Box Office: Indian movies are expected to have a significant Eid weekend! L2: Empuraan, featuring Prithviraj Sukumar and Mohanlal, billed as the most costly Malayalam movie ever. Salman Khan, starrer, on the other hand will make his big-screen comeback with action-thriller Sikandar.

Sikandar opens in theaters on March 30, while L2: Empuraan is scheduled to release on March 27. The two movies will potentially clash at the box office. Amid much fanfare for both, Prithviraj Sukumaran explained that there 'is no competition' between these movies during a recent press conference in Delhi. 

"Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars in the country, and there is no competition between the two movies. I hope it becomes a blockbuster," Prithviraj Sukumaran said.

L2 Empuraan filmmaker further added, "I will have no complaints if you watch L2: Empuraan at 11 AM and Sikandar at 1 PM."

Sikandar vs L2 Empuraan Advance Booking Report

Sikandar, Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna’s highly anticipated Eid release have begun its advance booking with a strong response. In just a few hours, over 40,000 tickets were sold, with the Hindi 2D version alone grossing Rs 1.13 crore. Including block bookings, the Hindi action movie has earned more than Rs 5 crore in ticket sales, with a total of 7,952 shows scheduled across India.

L2: Empuraan is expected to reclaim his crown after Lucifer took the box office by storm. The Malayalam movie's pre-sales have already surpassed Rs 60 crores, setting the stage for a huge hit. Prithviraj Sukumaran's directorial has already outperformed Pushpa 2 Leo in terms of advance bookings, demonstrating that L2: Empuraan is the most anticipated movie of the year. The action-thriller sold 96.14 tickets out of over 645k in a single day, reportedly.

About Sikandar

A.R. Murugadoss, who is well-known for his Tamil and Hindi blockbusters like Ghajini and Thuppakki, is the director of Sikandar. The project, which was produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, reunites Salman Khan with him following their 2014 hit film Kick. Sikandar also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, and Kajal Aggarwal.

About L2 Empuraan

The Prithviraj movie is a follow-up to the 2019 smash hit Lucifer and is scheduled for release on March 27. According to the teaser, Mohanlal's character is at the center of a socio-political drama. As Khureshi-Ab'raam, Mohanlal commands a larger-than-life screen presence in this intense, cinematic spectacle of a video. Abhimanyu Singh, Manju Warrier, and Tovino Thomas also feature in the movie.
