JE Entertainment Desk: The upcoming movie 'Adipurush', starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles, is all set to hit the theatres on June 16, 2023. Adapted from the Sanskrit epic Ramayana, 'Adipurush' is an upcoming mythological film, produced by T-Series and Retrophiles. The movie is written and directed by Om Raut and was concurrently filmed in Hindi and Telugu. The movie has a runtime of 2 hours and 54 minutes.

Drawing inspiration from tales in Hindu mythology, the story follows Shiva, an orphan musician with pyrokinetic powers who discovers that he is an astra, a weapon of enormous energy. The movie got mixed reviews, with acclaim going to the visual effects, soundtrack, score, and action scenes, while the majority of the criticism was directed at the dialogue, plot, and script. With an estimated worldwide total of over 431 crore (US$54 million), the movie became a hit at the box office, making it the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022 and one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2022.
Baahubali

'Baahubali' served as the synopsis for both Ramayana and Mahabharata. In the second part, Mahendra Bahubali was portrayed leaving his position of nobility because of his mother, exactly as Rama had sacrificed in the Ramayana. It's also one of the most popular blockbusters and is comparable to 'Adipurush'.
Raavan

Mani Ratnam wrote, co-produced, and directed the epic action-adventure movie 'Raavan' (2010), which was released in Hindi. Along with Govinda, Nikhil Dwivedi, Ravi Kishan, and Priyamani playing significant supporting parts, it has Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Vikram as its main actors. Vikram and Priyamani make their Hindi cinema debuts with this movie. The movie sticks to the main narrative of the epic Ramayana but has a modernised plot that shows Ravana's point of view.
Hum Saath Saath Hain

Sooraj Barjatya's film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' chronicles the internal conflicts of a wealthy Chaturvedi family. 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' has characters that resemble Lord Ram, Lady Sita, King Dasharatha, and Kaikeyi, yet it is not a direct adaptation of The Ramayana.
