Sunny Deol Compares 'Gadar 2's Tara Singh With Hulk And Superman: On the final day of the 2023 Jagran Film Festival in New Delhi, actor Sunny Deol drew a parallel between his character Tara Singh in the upcoming film 'Gadar 2' and iconic superheroes like Hulk and Superman. He mentioned that audiences want to witness a superhero on the screen who can rectify situations and bring justice.
"Tara Singh is our Hulk, Superman. Every man wants to watch Hulk and Superman. He believes that (the hero) on screen will set things right. Like there are Marvel Comics, here is Tara Singh. You don't draw these powers from working out. These are emotional powers," PTI quoted him as saying.
Referring to the renowned 'Hindustan Zindabad' sequence from 'Gadar,' Sunny Deol pointed out that when a character is confronted with a challenging decision, it's akin to divine intervention guiding their path. He further emphasised that this power is rooted in qualities like honesty, sincerity, and simplicity – the very essence of what defines superheroes.
Discussing his approach to acting preparation, Sunny Deol expressed his belief that acting is an innate quality, something one either possesses or doesn't. He explained that while techniques can refine this ability, one cannot become an actor solely through bodybuilding or dancing.
He highlighted that every individual harbours a range of emotions, and actors are fortunate to embody characters that enable them to authentically display these emotions, bringing a genuine sense of realism to their performances.
Speaking on his methods of preparation for a role, he said, "It is in your genes or you have it. You can enhance it through technique but you can't become an actor by doing bodybuilding or dancing. Every person has all kinds of emotions. As actors, we are blessed when a character comes to us, so we are able to present those emotions outside. That's when it feels real."
About Gadar 2:
In 'Gadar 2,' Sunny Deol returns to portray the character of Tara Singh, which he originally portrayed in his 2001 blockbuster 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.' Director Anil Sharma, who directed the original film as well, has also directed this sequel, which is scheduled for release on August 11. The movie also features Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. Set in 1971, the sequel continues the story about 17 years after the events of the original 'Gadar.'
Recently, Sunny shared the trailer on Instagram. The three-minute-long trailer showcases Tara Singh and Sakeena's legacy, set amidst the tumultuous Crush India Movement of 1971. In the trailer, Tara Singh went all the way to Pakistan to save his son, Charan Jeet Singh (played by Utkrash Sharma) from the Pakistani Army.
