Ahead of Independence Day, Bollywood lovers will be witnessing a smashing box office clash between 'Gadar 2' and 'OMG 2', with both films scheduled to release on August 11. Last year, two Bollywood A-list films 'Raksha Bandhan' and 'Laal Singh Chaddha' also locked horns with one another and ended up as big disasters. Neither of the films were able to put up profitable advance booking numbers and did horribly at the box office.

This year, the raging war is between Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2' and Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2.' 'Gadar 2' is directed by Anil Sharma and is off to a flier as the film has managed to collect good numbers ahead of its release. Showing great promise based on the initial traction of the advance booking collection of the film, 'Gadar 2' is all set to give tough competition to Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2.'

According to a report in Pinkvilla, 'Gadar 2's advance booking scenario is winning based on the strong numbers. 'Gadar 2' sold 1700 tickets in PVR, 1200 tickets in Inox, and 5200 tickets in Cinepolis on August 3. Eight days before its release, the advance numbers are remarkable for the film that isn't even in its release week yet. The opening day record of 'Gadar 2' is now estimated to be around Rs 25 crores in India.

'Gadar 2's plot revolves around the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, in which Tara Singh aka Sunny Deol's character will return to Pakistan to bring his son back home. On the other hand, 'OMG 2' is a spiritual sequel of 'OMG- Oh My God' and will focus on the sensitive topic of s*x education from a religious angle.
